We're driving from Coeur d'Alene to Great Falls and have a very tight schedule. Thought if we hustle we would be able to fit in a 1/2 day float in the Whitefish area and then the next day drive the Going to the Sun Road and on to Great Falls. I have some information from Wild River Adventures. Does anyone know this company or know of any other to recommend near the West entrance? Also, where to stay for one night when one of us is a little more fussy than the other when it comes to amenities and such. Thanks for any suggestions. K2

Hello from Northwest Montana.
From Coeur d'Alene to Glacier, a half day float AND drive the sun highway will be REALLY pushing it. Great Falls is a 4 drive from the park and that's if you push!!
This time of year the Sun highway will take approx. 1 to 1 1/2 hours to drive from west to east and that is without stopping to view falls, snow, etc.
I have used Montana Raft co. (1 800 521 7238) and Great Northern Whitewater
(406 387 5340) but never Wild River. I suspect they are pretty much all equal.

It is high season so it may be difficult to find a room in the area.
Have a fun trip.
OOOOPS Just re read your post. Yup It's doable in 2 days. There is no rafting in Whitefish though. It's all done in or near GNP.
Hope the web sites help!!
