I'm going to the Giants game this Sunday. Departing from midtown Manhattan. I'm planning to take the subway to the stadium.

Does anyone know if it gets too crowded going from Penn to Secaucus station, and then to the stadium?

Would it be worth using the bus service? Going with 1 other.

Just to be clear, you will not be taking the subway.

You'll be taking NJ Transit and a special spur to the stadium that operates only on game days. It may be crowded, but it will pale in comparison to the traffic through the Lincoln Tunnel into Midtown on Sunday. You've made a wise decision. Even if you had to stand the whole way (which you probably will not), it's only about 20 minutes.

That is not the subway. I guess you plan to take NJ Transit? I am not sure what you mean by too crowded, but you might not get a seat.

Leaving Penn Station on NJ Transit on the weekends surrounding Christmas (and Thanksgiving weekend) is very crowded. Everyone waits for the platform number to go up on the display board and then makes a run for the platform.

The problem with the bus will be the amount of traffic on the road (I guess that is obvious).

Yes it's not the subway, it is the NJ Transit train. Although, the route from my hotel to Penn is the subway. I'll stick with this plan then.

The subway operates only witin NYC. The Meadowlands is in New Jersey. Your options are car service (very expensive and stuck in crowds), the bus ( much cheaper but also stuck in traffic) or New Jersey Transit. Faster since no traffic but will be very crowded - and cost a lot less than a car service.'

In Penn Station buy your tickets in advance. Trains are announced only about 10 minutes prior to departure - so as soon as the track number is listed run to the appropriate door and down the stairs. If you're fast you may get a seat. If not - the trip isn't very long.
