Trip Report Straits of Mackinac Trip Report

Jump to last reply

Memorial Day weekend we took our first northern Michigan trip which did not include visiting family or settling family affairs. The 6 day trip included the Fort Michilimackinac Pageant, Mackinaw Memorial Parade, one night on Mackinac Island, the Tunnel of Trees, and an evening in the Leelanau Peninsula. The highlights of the trip were touring two Coast Guard Cutters and a chartered flight to photograph 17 lighthouses.

It was a cool weekend with highs in the 50s, but except for the first moring, is was sunny and beautiful.

My long trip report with well over 100 photos is at
