Stopover from Buffalo to Cape Cod
Any suggestions...we want to have a nice leisurely drive over two days, arriving in Chatham after lunch on a Friday. Any suggestions where to stop en route for the night (a winery area would be a bonus!!)...Thanks.

The drive through New York State is beautiful - if you can stay off the Thruway. Wineries abound in the Finger Lakes Region. Skaneateles is a very nice town.
If you choose to drive the route known as the Southern Tier, you will enjoy Corning.
Others will certainly post more details for you. Sounds like a nice trip!

thanks..the trip thru N.Y. state sounds just what we're looking for. Does anyone have a route that would enable us to bypass the thruway? And do you have any suggestions for a place to stay the night in Skaneateles?

I guess Kealalanie means that Skan....is 7 hours from the Cape. So why don't you mapquest the routes and see what other cities are involved. Perhaps Glens Falls, or someplace along the Hudson... but I would actually save a lot of driving for day two and enjoy the afternoon and evening of Day One in the stayover town. My thoughts.
