steamed crabs near Chesapeake Bay Bridge?

Jump to last reply

I know that blue crabs are ever more scarce around the Bay, but I'm wondering if there's anywhere in the area of the Bay Bridge and/or Kent Island (not Annapolis) that still has excellent steamed crabs on the menu. (E.g. not over cooked and hopefully good size, not the all-you-can-eat mediums, though I know that many folks do enjoy the small ones....) My memory is that there're a couple of places on Kent Island, but I have no idea which is likely to be the best bet. I'll be meeting someone at BWI and then driving over to the Chestertown area (where it's virtually impossible to get good-sized and properly steamed crab.) This person used to live in the area, is a crab afficionado, and is dying to feast on her dearly-loved shellfish. In short, are such glories still available? Thanks!!
(P.S. If Annapolis is the only fighting chance, we may be willing to go out of our way, but would much prefer not. I know, too, that finding good-sized crabs can be hit or miss-- just wondering where my best chance might be. This will be a Monday, by the way.)
