It depends on your budget. In Chattanooga, there is a nicer than average Residence Inn that we love to stay at. We've also stayed at the Marriott, which was very nice also. Are you planning to visit the aquarium while you are there? I'd highly recommend it.
Yes, we want to see the aquarium also some art galleries and maybe a few antique stores. Any suggestions?
If you have an interest in Civil War history, you can visit Chickamauga. http://www.nps.gov/chch/index.htm
I would stay in downtown. It is a neat city and you can shop and go to the bridge. Alot of nice restaurants and coffee shops. You will have fun and enjoy it alot. The people are very nice and just a good vibe from the city
I live in TN, Knoxville. We've been to Chattanooga many times, and it's always a lot of fun, but we just go for the day. Sometime I'd like to stay at Bluff View Inn, perhaps w/just my husband, and no kids. Bluff View Inn: http://tinyurl.com/7cfue9f
We have also been happy at the Residence Inn. Chattanooga is a great little secret.
Downtown is fine, but I like stayin' on the mountain. Lookout Mountain. http://stayatchanticleer.com/
We have stayed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel which is very nice. You can pay extra and actually sleep in a train sleeper car - this is very novel and we did it years ago. Warning there is not a lot of insulation so you will definitely hear people if they are walking near your "car".
There is a good restaurant on site for a buffett breakfast and there are also 2 restaurants next door to the hotel that can be accessed on foot.
