Trip Report Stay away from using Travel Now

I booked two reservations to stay at the Hawthorn Suites North Dayton for the week of 3/18-25/13. The booking company was TravelNow and my credit card was charged immediately on October 2012.
I checked in on 3/18/13 and was aghast with the conditions of the facility and room. I went and found another hotel and came back to check out. I checked out with the understanding that I would be charged for the first night and reimbursed for the rest of the week.
However, I did not receive any notification about a refund and had my credit card company seek reimbursement, which was not successful and I was told to pursue a refund on my own. I wrote an e-mail to the Hotel Management, but received no reply and then I contacted Travelnow about a refund.
Travelnow was able to provide me with a refund for two nights on my first reservation, but would not reimburse and of the $463 on the second reservation as I had not contacted them to cancel my reservation. The hotel cancellation policy states that I need to contact them for the cancellation, but now Travelnow states I needed to contact them as the hotel does not have the power to cancel reservations.
So, my suggestion is to avoid delaing with Travelnow or make sure you know the cancellation policies, which obviously I am responsible for when dealing with two entities. MY LOSS MY FAULT!
