Starbucks in Alaska?
Will I be able to get my caffiene fix in the Forget-me-Not state? In/out of Anchorage to Seward / Denali. I collect Starbucks cups -- would like an Alaska one if they have it.

Check out www.starbucks.com for locations in AK.

IMO best espresso in Anc. (also great bakery and deli counters, also great imported/specialty food selections) is at New Sagaya Market, on 13th nr. K (close to the Inlet Tower hotel). Super place for a lazy weekend morning with bagels, papers, surrounded by the local aristocracy (Inlet View branch.)

You can find the location and phone of any business in America, either by name or type of business, at
www.superpages.com
You can search by city, state, or ZIP; or by distance from an address, city, or ZIP.
My search found no store with the "Starbucks" name in Alaska.

There was a Starbucks in the Fred Meyers in Fairbanks--not sure about Anchorage. Alaska has roadside java stands all over the place. We found it comical sometimes after we'd been driving without seeing any sign of civilization along the road only to have a "Hot Java next right" sign pop up out of nowhere. ;-)

So much for the SuperPages . . .
There are about 20 Starbucks in AK, but I'm with Gardy, New Sagaya (either location) is a great place to go -- or any place they serve Kaladi Bros., which has been roasting in Anchorage for years. Also, Sleepy Dog in Eagle River.

I take notice of a weakness with SuperPages.Com. Namely, that unless the business has the specific name you are looking for, it will not be listed there. In that way it is like a phone book -- which is no surprise, because that is exactly how SuperPages gets its listings. In this case there may be dozens of places that SELL Starbucks coffee even if no place specifically has the Starbucks name on its phone listing.
In the future I will make note of this weakness.

Not to nit pick, but a Yahoo search for ``Starbucks Anchorage'' will find stores with Starbucks in the listings that the SuperPages directory misses.
Most of their brews are a bit bitter for my taste, however.

Thanks for the replies --- I cherish the mug I brought back from Melbourne, Aus -- and it brings back the happy memories I had there, when I sip my java at home. My daughter went with me to Ozzieland -- she is not a coffee drinker and uses her Starbuck's Australia mug as a pencil holder. Oh, by the way, in Australia they serve their coffees in real ceramic mugs and not the paper cups unless you are on the go.
