I am considering staying in Stamford for one nite because I cannot get a decent room in NYC later this month (everything is booked!). My question is - at this station, is it easy to get a cab upon arrival?
Thanks in advance
Stamford, CT Amtrak station?

Everything is booked in NYC? What dates are you looking for?
Everything affordable is booked - May 9.
This is a business trip so I could easily stop on Amtrak in Stamford for the nite and go into the city in the morning
i work in stfd. theres a cab line everyday at the station. you could stay at the westin in stfd. it's not even half a mile from the station. i would stay in jersey city first though- MUCH closer. You can take metro north (amtrak is much more exp and less frequent) ubt the quickest express train is about 50 minutes...
Stamford Station is a very active station. What time will you arrive? I can't imagine there won't be a cab. Perhaps the hotel where you will stay the night has a courtesy van?
jt - I am presuming that Emily is coming from north of Stamfod, hence her idea to stop in Stamford for the night and then take a regular commuter train [express] into Grand Central which may be closer to her final destination.
Debi
