There's a pretty neat restaurant on the top level of that hotel, actually. You can dress casually, I've seen lots of people do it, including myself. It's a revolving restaurant with tables all around the windows and you get a nice view of the riverfront and downtown. It's a little expensive... I like to go there for a fancy desert sometimes late in the evening.
I went there last 4th of July for an early dinner after a baseball game and got to watch the airshow around the Arch.... it was great!
There's also a TGIFridays a couple blocks away on Kiener Plaza. You can catch the Metrolink a block and a half away at Busch Stadium to Union Station for several other dining choices. A good seafood place,(Landrys I think) and a Houlihans inside.

Hannegan's on the Landing. It's not a bad walk. Cross one of the walks over to the Arch side of Riverfront - one side of the Millenium faces the Arch. Walk past the old Cathedral and either cut across the Arch grounds (a park) or make a right at Washington, downhill towards the river. A cobblestone street enters from the left, beneath the historic old Eads bridge. Hannegans is down about a block on the left.
I mention Hannegans because it's one of my favorites. I grew up in St. Louis and when I go back, I still work in a trip to Hannegans. It's casual, but it's modeled after the old Senate dining room, with tiered levels of quiet leather booths.
I recommend the baked, double stuffed pork chop with apple-rosemary stuffing and poivrade sauce. Everyone I've taken that that didn't order it tries a little bit of mine and says "Oh, I'm ordering that next time...". Great with one of their less expensive Chiantis they have on the list. That's about a $30 dinner, with a glass of wine.

Here are some more good suggestions:
While it is a national chain I still like the Max & Ermas in the Drury Suites which is about 1 block north.
To the south is BBs Jazz Blues and Soups. Pretty good casual bar fare.
A 1/2 block south of BBs is some very good cajun food at the Broadway Oyster Bar.
Back to the north is Calecos (bar food and pizza) and TGIFridays.
If you want to sample St. Louis italian food within walking distance there is Charlie Gittos. It's casual but good enough for Eric Clapton to lunch there last week when in town visiting friends.
Like Idnas71 said you can take MetroLink to Union Station for other choices, but most of them being national chains. I do like the Route 66 microbrewery there for their food.

I second Charlie Gittos. Great italian food! Calecos is also a good option. Depending on your budget, Mike Shannons and Dierdorf & Harts, both on the more expensive side, are within walking distance. Dooleys is a terrific english pub-like bar and restaurant that has terrific cheddar burgers. All are within walking distance of the Millenium. I personally wouldn't recommend the Top of the Riverfront (the revolving restaurant on top of the hotel). The food is only so-so, so you will be paying for the views.

I forgot: by C. Gittos, TGIFriday and Calecos is a St. Louis Bread Company that just opened after a long renovation. It's about a 2 1/2 block walk from the Millenium.
For those of you in the rest of the country, Panera Bread started in St. Louis as St. Louis Bread Co. Same looking stores, same menu, different name.

Well, I know that the Bread Co. I used to go to downtown moved so I haven't been there in awhile. I would assume so because a lot of people go in there for coffee and breakfast on their way to work. Now for the weekend, I'm not really sure. Unfortunately some restaurants downtown are closed on the weekends due to lack of business.
