St. Louis, MO--Lodging???

Hi! We are two seniors who are planning a visit to St. Louis. We'll be staying in the city, from 8/30 until 9/4, or so, to visit relatives in the vicinity of South 37th Street. We've checked out the websites of several area "chain" hotels/motels, but would appreciate any "first-hand," recent information. What we most care about is:

Location--approximately 3-5 miles surrounding S 37th
"In-House" restaurant--especially for morning coffee and a good breakfast
Parking/Access to major routes--since we are travelling by car
Price--$100-$120, per night, would be great--less $, even better, of course!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated--thanks, in advance!

Joe

Perhaps if you could let us know which part of town that is, we'd be of more help. I've been to St. Louis a number of times and have stayed in the Central West End, Clayton and downtown but I have no idea where South 37th Street is.

From the maps I have viewed, S 37th St. is just a few miles from I-55. It is within a neighborhood referred to, locally, as "Dutchtown," in Southeast St. Louis.

Any information, from visitors to this area, would be most welcome. Thank you!

Joe,

I live in St. Louis and would be happy to help you with your plans. What hotels have you been looking into? Maybe I could give you some suggestions if there are any activities you would like to plan.

If I can be of any help feel free to get in touch.

Trish

Hi, Trish, and thanks for your willingness to help! I'm considering staying at one of the four following locations:

On Wilson Avenue--either the Red Roof Inns, or the Holiday Inn
On Washington Avenue--either the Days Inn, or the Ramada Inn

Since you live in ST LO, you've probably seen each of these places a million times. It would be great, if you could suggest the one that seems "best," regarding its appearance and location.

Oh, too--thanks for offering to help me with activity plans, but I think my relatives have our days in the area "booked solid!" I do appreciate your kindness, though.

Sincerely,
Joe
