St. Louis Botanical Garden

We are meeting friends at the Botanical Garden in St. Louis. I haven't been there in recent memory.

I wonder if there is a place inside the facility that would be a good place to meet. It would need to be
* close to the entrance (is there only one),
* specific,
* small enough to find each other and
* yet provide something for the earlier arrivers to look at.

Also, what is the parking situation in the area?

Thanks

I have been to the Missouri Botanical Gardens many times. There is plenty of free parking in the parking lots at the entrance, if you go in the morning or during the week. There is also street parking and some satellite lots a few blocks away. There is a lobby area at the entrance where you buy your tickets. There is also a nice gift shop there where you could browse to pass some time. If you buy your tickets and proceed upstairs, there is an exhibit gallery and a restaurant. You could also meet just outside the entrance/ ticketing building where there are benches before going in to buy your tickets.

There is also an entry plaza upstairs in the gardens that has a large fountain with benches around the perimeter. You could sit and wait there with a view of the Gardens. The MBG are beautiful and I always stop there when I am visiting.

Perfect -thanks so much for your help.

I think the fountain area would be a great place to meet and it's good to know that there should be free parking.

It's actually the Missouri Botanical Garden.

There's a downloadable map at this link

http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.o...arden/map.aspx

When are you coming? I only ask that because I noticed on the website that Tower Grove Ave. is closed this Sunday 10/16 and traffic could be little tough.

There is plenty of free parking at the garden. If on a weekend, especially if it's a nice day, it's helpful to get there early.

There is a gift shop just past the ticket entrance where you could spend time and meet a friend. Or go upstairs and wait there. Or just outside at the fountain.

Have a nice time.

An identifiable place to meet, would be inside the front entrance, by the huge, hanging blue glass artwork by Chihuly.

I vote fountain, though either would work. At the (sometimes crowded) entrance I'd sit looking at the Chihuly and be thinking yet again how impossible those things are to keep presentably dusted.
