Spur of the moment Chicago advice.
Never been- leaving today for a long weekend in Chicago- 3 kids 7-12 age range. We will be staying near Wrigley Field. Any advice on what to do for 2 days... Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Walk the lakefront park. River walk too. Museum of Science and Industry, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium. Take the Architectural Foundation's First Lady boat tour up the Chicago River of Chicago's famous architecture. Check if the Cubs are in town for a game at historic Wrigley Field. Eat in Greek town.

Sf7307- bobby's bike hike. I am nearly positive it was the lake front neighborhood tour, but it's been a few years.

It was the first bike tour I've taken on vacation and they sort of set the bar. I enjoyed it so much that now I'm always thinking "while these people are good, they aren't QUITE as good as bobby's"

If you're driving into the city, use Spot Hero or Parkwhiz to find inexpensive parking near your hotel and don't move the car until you leave. Street parking is out as most streets in the Lakeview neighborhood are restricted to resident permit holders only after 6 pm.
To get an idea of what to see and do, check the city's official tourism site: www.choosechicago.com.
For transit info, maps a trip planner and how to track CTA buses and trains with a smart phone, go to www.transitchicago.com.
For architectural boat tours, www.architecture.org.
For other events, concerts and restaurant listings searchable by price, cuisine or neighborhood, www.chicagoreader.com or www.chicagomag.com.
Aladdin is currently playing at the Palace Theatre, tickets may be available if you're interested, but they can be pricey.
You can also head to the Lincoln Park Zoo which is free and not far from your hotel.

Thanks for your replies- we had a blast. We went to Lincoln Park zoo which was an awesome zoo for free, ate at RJ Grunts- good burgers, walked around downtown, signature lounge in the Hancock Tower-awesome view, Millennium (I think) park-the cloud was cool, wandered around the neighborhood by Wrigley, Field museum-Sue was cool, and ate deep dish at Lou's. A great time.
