We are visiting Monticello and Ashland Highland as a day trip from Shenandoah NP.
We want to have a spudnut before our 9:30 tour at Monticello. So, if we get there by 8:00am or so, is that soon enough to insure they will still have donuts? I read that they run out early, but not sure what actual time "early" means.
Also, it looks like it might be a bit of a drive out of time(3 or 4 miles or so). Is this correct?

Should still be some at 8 a.m. My coworker used to stop there around 8:30 or so and get a dozen without a problem. Of course, it varies but you should be ok.
And yes, it's a couple miles and towards downtown Charlottesville rather than near Monticello.
