Springdale, Utah parking (for Zion NP)

I'll be arriving by car at Zion N.P. this Sunday morning about 10am. Will it be better to catch the Springdale Shuttle rather than taking a chance that the parking lot will be full at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center? If so, is there free parking at any of the Springdale Shuttle stops? (I have a map of the Springdale Shuttle stops.) The people at the "Zion Canyon Giant Screen Theater" told me that there would be a fee there, since I'm looking for parking & not use of their theater.

One other question: I've been to Springdale and know that there are fantastic views from the main street of the town. Yet, since I'll be in a hurry to arrive at Zion, is there a particular spot on the main street of Springdale that would offer a particularly good view of the scenery?

There is free street parking on the main drag thru town.

It doesn't take long to check out the lot at the Human History Museum, you may get lucky.

All the Springdale shuttles take you to the Zion VC where you get off and transfer to a shuttle into the park. I'd drive to the VC and park there...probably get a shuttle quicker. I never have been unable to find a space.

Scenery is pretty good on the park side of town but that's picking nits.

We went to Zion Memorial Day weekend last year, and didn't have a problem finding a parking space by the visitor center. IMO you should be fine this time of year.
