Spring Lake- Cab from Train to Beach?

Greetings, I live in NYC and wanted to take NJ TRansit to the beach. Can I grab a cab from the train station to the beach in Sprin Lake? Or is there another ideal location on the NJ shore- that is easy access or has cabs from the train station to the beach? I want a non-cheesey beach. Tx.

You can probably walk to the beach from the train station in Spring Lake, somehow I doubt there will be any cabs around.

The walk from the Spring Lake station to the beach is under a mile. It's a nice walk if you head into the heart of town by the lake. Definately not a cheesy beach.

The other option for a non-cheesy beach is Bay Head. From the train station to the BHIA office (Bay Head Improvement Association) where you can get a beach pass, it's about 6 blocks. But, the downside of Bay Head is that it is designed to not be very day trip friendly. No real public restrooms (except by the police station) and no ability to bring food/water on the beach. The upside of this of course is that it does present a more relaxed beach environment away from the "cheesy" elements. If you do go to Bay Head, which I think is worth it despite the lack of amenities, then stay near Bridge Street.

There might be a cab meeting the train. If not, I think there is a phone where you can call for one. The station is within walking distance of the beach. Just don't bring a lot of "stuff" to carry.

And bring your money to pay to get onto the beach, too.
