Special Trip Help
My husband and I are planning a baby-free get-away. We can be gone for four nights. We are dying to get suggestions for a trip that we could take in such a short time that would be fun, relaxing, and maybe even romantic. Any help out there? We are thinking U.S. but haven't ruled out the nearby islands. Thanks in advance!

If your definition of "pretty generous" matches my definition of very generous, Little Palm Island would be a perfect getaway. Aside from being extremely expensive I don't think I've ever heard an unfavorable review of it. Check it out at littlepalmisland.com

And if Little Palm is too pricey and you want a beach place, lots of options in Fla. Check the hotel section here on Fla. Also check current thread on hidden gems or something like that. Mentions Lewes and Beaufort and several places I don't know. For city, what about Savannah and/or Charleston?

Little Palm Island looks beautiful. Might be a little bit more than we were going to spend, but we're going to look pretty hard at it. This is the last trip before baby #3! Cape Cod was on our list, sounds romantic...what is the weather like that time of year. We both love fall weather and even a good storm every now and then.

Sounds like October Cape Cod weather is right up your alley. While you might have an "indian summer" afternoon when you can walk the beaches without a jacket...it'll probably be breezy and cool, with a thundershower every now and then. A great place to rent bicycles and explore...especially in the off-season when you'll feel you own the entire cape.
At night, you'll enjoy dinners or just cocktails in comfortable places that have the fireplace going.

Thanks for all the replies! Don't think I can talk my husband into Little Palm Island. Does anyone have anything to say about Navajo country? I've always been interested in that area and in the culture.

Santa Fe and Taos are not what they used to be but I first went that way when I was a little girl. Fly into Albuquerque, rent a car, stay at La Fonda or St. Francis or Inn at Loretta or a B&B, go to Taos for a night. It is magical out there. Be sure to take in Bandelier.
