I WORK at the Spam Museum. Well, actually I work for Hormel Foods and our department is located in the same building as the Spam Museum. I think you'll find the museum a qwirky little place that is easy to enjoy. You can even "can your own Spam!" The gift shop has got some unbelievable things! We'd love to have you stop!

You should open a branch in Honolulu. Those locals love that stuff!

Sounds interesting. How many kinds of Spam are there? I know in Hawaii, many restaurants serve it...

There are at least two kinds of Spam: Original, and Low-Fat. When I heard of the latter product's introduction, I fell on the floor laughing.

In addition to Original and Spam Lite, there's turkey Spam, "Less Sodium" and "Smoke Flavored." Yum!

What is Spam? (A serious question. I've heard of it but never knew what it was. One of those things that just passed me by somehow...)

Spam is what happens to all that's left of a pig when the butcher gets done cutting away the recognizable parts.

The spam.com web site is a hoot. And tells you what's in Spam.

Spam is a canned processed ham product.

It comes in a rectangular tin opened with a key, or used to. I think it was invented as a non-perishable food for WW II soldiers, though I suppose the website tells this better & more accurately.

In the 40s and 50s it was a common kids' lunch sandwich food. If people eat it now, they don't live where I do (in New York). Though of course it is still relatively inexpensive and convenient, as it is meat and doesn't need refrigeration.

Sorry to get off-topic, but I just checked out the recommended spam website. I can't decide which would make a better gift - the boxers with little glow-in-the-dark spam cans all over or the spam-snowglobe! This is a great website.

I think the best part of the web site is the FAQ. Great attitude!
