Flying into Las Vegas end of December for one week road trip. Was planning to drive Southern Utah Parks route and on to Mesa Verde. After posting here I found out weather may not cooperate so I need a plan B for an excellent road trip where the weather would be better, presumably down into AZ and NM. Any suggested routes.

Taken the drive to Southern Utah via Vegas 3 times - fantanstic. The earlies I've ever done it was the beginning of April and there was still lots of snow in Bryce - less in Zion.
I guess you know they actually close down the park in certain places during the winter - You can call the Park Service and they will give you the skinny.
Good luck - the parks are incredible. Incidently, if you do take the trip, I suggest staying over at Rosies Motel outside of Bryce. Clean, nice, good restaurant for B-K.
Carefull outside of Zion - stay away from Bramblebush Cafe - terrible.
