Southern Oregon coast - pet-friendly places to stay?

We are planning a 3-night trip down the Oregon coast, leaving from Eugene. We are thinking of going south from Florence rather than north. We'll have our 30-lb. dog with us. Suggestions on best towns to visit / places to stay that are pet-friendly?

Not sure if they allow pets, but have you checked out the places that have Yurts? see: http://oregon.gov/OPRD/PARKS/rustic.shtml

Thanks for the link! They do have some yurts which allow pets. I'm not sure I feel like getting out all my camping gear this trip, but it does look fun.

Bandon is the easy pick as my favorite south coast town to visit, and not just because of Bandon Dunes. Very cute, historic downtown with some nice dining options, and one of the more dramatic beachscapes of any Oregon coastal town. I checked and saw that both Best Western Inn at Face Rock and Table Rock Motel allow dogs, though I haven't stayed in either. The one time I didn't stay at Bandon Dunes Resort was at the Sunset Motel, but I don't believe pets are allowed there.

Thanks, Islandaze. Bandon was on our list--good to know it's a favorite of yours.

A neighbor stayed at that Best Western in Bandon a couple years ago with their dog. She didn't say anything negative about the hotel and said they had a great trip, so I assume it was fine. I don't have any other info other than that, but hope it helps a bit.

Check out Fireside Motel in Yachats. It has a great location right on the water. If they can't help you, investigate Adobe, which is next door.

Sorry, I missed the "southern" specification.

Best Western Beachfront Inn, Brookings, is right on the water, and they may be able to accommodate you.

In case you don't know, between Florence and Bandon there aren't many views of the ocean from Highway 101. The ocean scenery is from Port Orford to Brookings (and then to Eureka in California).
