Southern Cal - Hermosa, Manhattan and Laguna Niguel need advice

Hi,
We are going to a wedding in Hermosa over labor day. Spending two nights in Hermosa, and then driving to Laguna Niguel and staying at the Ritz Dana Point. Brining our 15 month old. Need kid friendly restaurant ideas for Saturday evening in Manhattan or Hermosa and then Mon - Wed in Laguna area.
thanks!

The first thing you should know is that the Fiesta Hermosa is going on in downtown Hermosa that weekend. The downtown streets will be blocked off, and it will be very crowded. More info at: www.fiestahermosa.com.

Because of the crowds in Hermosa, I would recommend dining in Redondo or Manhattan for that Sat. evening. Ruby's at the Seaside Lagoon in the Redondo Beach Marina is a very family-friendly choice. There are also several casual Mexican & Italian restaurants. Let us know your preferences.

I'll let our O.C. experts help you will Laguna Niguel.

thanks for the heads up on the hermosa fiesta, I am sure it's going to be a packed weekend. We have a wedding on Sunday night so I'll need to send "nana" with our son to get some food that evening. We are really up for any types of food. I know in Laguna my mother wants to go to Splashes, is that kid friendly if we go earlier in the evening?
thanks for your help!

One more thing I should also add is that even though dining with a child we still are looking for "good" meals. Not into chain restaurants that we can find at home. thanks

Send "nana" and son to Manhattan to the Kettle Restaurant on MB Blvd. We take our grandchild there all the time.

For toddler-friendly places, I think larger, wide-open restaurants are much better than the smaller, quieter places. Kincaid's and Bluewater Grill in Redondo might work for you. Also, Pancho's in Manhattan Beach (Mexican). Ragin' Cajun in Hermosa is also very good.

eeyore - I think if you are dining earlier Splashes would be okay - obviously just be sensitive to the other guests if your 15 month old is not a happy camper.
