South Seas Resort Captiva Island

We are spending a week at South Seas with our grand kids this summer (3 1/2 and 3 months). Staying in a Lands End Villa so would appreciate any information from people who have stayed there as well as any advise/ideas on activities, transportation, etc. We were thinking about a golf cart (haven't checked pricing yet) plus keeping our rental car for getting around the resort and sites beyond (restaurants at night, Ding Darling Preserve, etc.).

We are looking for easy activities as the kids are fairly young. Also, we are not opposed to driving off the island for any must see activities.

As for the beach, are there cabanas on the beach or some sort of beach umbrellas? If so do you need to rent them in advance?

I was there 20+ years ago (stayed in some sort of condo) so I don't remember a whole lot about the resort. I recall the trolley being our mode of transportation as cars were not allowed at the time. Thanks in advance for the help!
