Sopranos tour - New York

Being an avid Sopranos fan, I'm interested in this tour on an upcoming trip to the city. Has anyone taken this tour and what were your opinions?

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't most of the Sopranos shot in New Jersey?

Other than a couple of scenes in Little Italy I don't recall much of NYC.

You are correct - these tours depart out of NYC for 4 hrs. Mostly NJ sites, I think...

Emily, if you only have a couple of days in Manhattan or if this is your first trip, I'd skip the tour.

While there are some stunningly beautiful parts of New Jersey, northern Jersey isn't part of that beauty.

We once did an entire Sopranos Christmas and did online website research to find the locations and drove to them on our own ... starting with dinner at Sparks Steak House in the city, which has its own notorious mob past. We mixed Sopranos sites in NJ with old school Manhattan mob lore. Umberto's Clam House, for example. Still, we heard good things about the tour. The only thing is now they have dismantled some of the authentic shooting sets that had been kept up even in the off-season while the show was in production. For fans this is a fun experience.
