Something(s) veeeeery nice to say about Myrtle Beach!

The people are just splendid!!!!!!

The real icee and I had the pleasure of heading to the beach for Thanksgiving week.

We had dinner one night at Joe's Bar and Grill in North Myrtle (behind the new Olive Garden) and enjoyed it very much.

The nice people we got together with this time were locals' beachdweller and mrs. beachdweller and maryanne1. We met for happy hour at Islamorada Fish Company. Select sushi was only $3 and very very good. This was a great gtg with the splendid people I mentioned.

We were sad to have missed getting together with kathleen....she was getting up too early to go shopping and I ended up keeping the grandgirls for their mother to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. We also were sad to not be able to get together with GoTravel and Daddy Wonderful. She was busy training early in the week and by the time the weekend rolled around, we realized it was time to clean things up and head home.

The beach was great. Lots of people walking and running, and a few brave souls were in the ocean.

For restuarants, we did our typical Sunday lunch at Hoskins and made a trip for great fried fish at The Seafood Hut in Calabash. Both were still as great as we remembered. Hoskins is now closed until February. The real icee tried to get me to go ahead and put in my application for 2009!

I did take the girls to LeGrande Cirque at The Palace Theatre. They enjoyed the show very much. Plus, it's a great deal since children's tickets are only $10.

Here's a link to a few photos.....enjoy.

Hate I missed you all!

Y'all need to come back the weekend of January 27th for the Low Country Oyster Festival at Boone Hall Plantation.

I know the beachdwellers definitely need to go!

We can all stop and eat at See Wees or Jack's Cosmic Dogs on the way home!

Donna,

we had such a great time, and thanks very much for posting the pictures. I especially like the one in which I apparently had just swallowed a few thousand milligrams of valium.

GoTravel,

Oysters? Mount Pleasant? The Sewee? Oh yeah! Let's definitely try to make January 27th work.

Yes, it is the annual Boone Hall Oyster Festival (I think they renamed it to the Low Country Oyster Festival) and it is 65,000 pounds of low country oysters, cold beer, and lots of beer.

Have y'all been to SeeWees yet? It is like a seafood meat and three and MY GOD it is GOOD!!

LOL Scarlett! Actually, I was afraid to call after I read that she had "tricked" Daddy Wonderful into going to Walmart on Friday!

And, then when I read he tripped her and gave her the shiner, I knew there was no way I was getting into that brawl!!!!!
