Bellagio used to not allow kids under 18 if they weren't guests.

I'll add Hard Rock and Bally's to that list. Even when Vegas was touting itself as a "family" destination, Bally's was proudly advertising as a non-family resort.

When I was trying to book directly with the Mandalay Bay reservation agent, she was politely but firmly trying to talk me out of staying there with my kids, suggesting another of their other properties, such as the Excalibur. I pointed out that their pool area had a lazy river and a wave pool, which was bound to attract families. She insisted that the pool area was really designed for adults.

Once we got there, there were lots of kids at the pool, so I guess their disuasion tactics didn't work so well.

Bellagio would be my first choice but if cost is an issue, I have seen minimal children at Paris and or Ballys.

Wynn is probably a good idea as well but I have only walked through there once and have never stayed. It does have a very "adult" feel to it.

Kids have never been a problem for us at any of the "good" hotels.

I stayed at Bally's two years ago. I don't recall many kids. Maybe a few teens with their parents in the shops/ food court area.

Caesar's. NO kid areas, such as game rooms, etc. No restaurants that are family-oriented. Topless area at the pool, which also has no slides, etc.

Wynn has a european pool section...aka as ta ta's need no cover. I've heard that the Palm pool is adventurous.

Definitely the Wynn ... by far the best property on the Strip and probably the least "kid friendly."

When we went to the Wynn for dinner a few months back, there was a sign on the door that read "no strollers allowed (except for guests)". When Steve Wynn opened the Bellagio he had the same rule there, but now that it is a MGM property I think it has changed, so Wynn has now made his new place with the "no stroller" policy and it seems to work.

I'm surprised at the suggestion of Excalibur, which I would suppose appeals to children more than to adults.

Clearly the Excalibur suggestion was either a joke or the result of sheer ignorance.

Disregard it.

Of course it was a joke! (But children in Vegas is a bad idea no matter what.)

I would say Bellagio or Wynn. And Bally's, if you can't afford the first two.

While I stick with my Bellagio and Wynn suggestions, I forgot about Caesars...all good ideas in the catagory of child avoidance.

PS I want to believe the Excalibur idea was a joke too....I hope.

Yes, of course it was a joke. I apologize. I couldn't resist. As a frequent traveler to Vegas, I would agree with all of the other posts which recommend Wynn, Bellagio and Caesar's as good choices for relatively kid free hotels. Bally's is also a good midrange choice.
