We will be spending 4 nights at Snoeshow in late January with 2 kids (ages 10 and 12) who have never been skiing...we (the parents) DON'T ski! We have them signed up for ski school for the first 2 half days. We are travelling with another family and they have West Coast skiing experience. Any suggestions/comments?

Ski school is a very wise investment--even for experienced skiers. Accredited programmes are excellent and quite kid-friendly. I've skiied Snowshoe many times and snow conditions are usually excellent from late December through March. Thanksgiving through early April ski seasons are not unusual due to the elevation--around 5,000'. Good variety of trails; good lift capacity, although lines can get long on holiday weekends. I was there pre-season in early October (with heavy snow falling, BTW) and Snowshoe's new lodging and shopping village looks promising.
