Ski areas in Michigan

We may be spending some time in southern MI over the holidays and I'm wondering about some of the ski resorts there - any experience/suggestions? My kids have never skiied so challenge level is not a factor. Thanks.

When we lived in Michigan, we liked to ski at Boyne.

Are you going to be in SW Michigan or in the Detroit area?

SW Michigan, Holland area. I know there are a couple of small resorts not too far off, but we've never visited them.

Both would be good for Floridian first timers.
