Dan-I LOVE YOUR SKETCHES!
I used to live on the Big Island and i especially love your Akaka Falls sketch.
Thanks for posting!
Thanks so much! Loved the varied landscapes of the Big Island. Like three different planets combine in one.
What a unique and wonderful to save memories of what must have been a great trip!
Fantastic sketches!! Thanks for posting them!!
Those are wonderful! Enjoyed them very much.
This is fabulous!!! I just love your style!
What a great way to post a trip report. I loved your art!
Beautiful artwork!!!
Very nice!
Wow! You really did do sketches.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
This is a first for me to see sketches of a vacation. Love Hawaii & loved your sketches!
Bravo!!! The most original trip report ever ... I could almost see the places you visited
.
Beatiful work.
Da Kine Bra!!!
Suck 'em up and let's go Naf shore.!!
Dan, just a thought: your work reminds me of the wonderful illustrations of Hendrik Willem van Loon; ever seen his work?
Thank you all! it was a really fun trip. Would love to return to Mauna Kea at night to see the stars. Next time!
Sylvia: just googled his work now...amazing! Very charming drawings!
Loved it!
You are a great artist! I really enjoyed looking at your drawings, especially the Hawaii ones.
Great sketches! Thanks for sharing.
Oh to have this talent. Thanks for sharing with us. was thehike up Koko head anything like the hike up Diamond Head? Looking for some hikes when I go
Thanks, Shar! The Koko head hike migh be shorter than Diamond head hike, but it's gruelling! But the reward is an amzing commanding view. I would recommend bringing water and maybe even a lunch with you to the top. I saw some people having a little picnic up there and regretted not doing the same.
Diamond Head is easy enough to do since it's so close to Waikiki. Little bit longer but not as tough. Great view up there too.
There's also a great hike to Laie Falls on the north shore. Tiny waterfall, but you can swim in the water there. 1.5 hr hike.
Great sketches and captions. What a different trip report!
How original! Thanks for sharing your beautiful sketches, which really evoke the islands for me!
wonderful style, colors! love your work. are you a professional artist or illustrator?
How fun! I love your sketches.
Dan, your sketches are great! We were on Oahu the week after you were there. Your drawings make me want to return.
Thanks for topping this! I love them all.
Your sketches answer the what-to-wear? question. I loved them all, too.
