Can anyone recommend a good place to stay as well as good restaurants for a brief visit (some business, some pleasure) at the end of September?

Hi Audrey, Whenever we visit SF ewe stay at the Radisson Encore. Itis right next to the Empire Mall and there is TGIF right on the property. also a Mexican restaurant across the parking lot. Red Lobster nearby also. Minerva's in downtown sf always has excellent food, they also have 2 spin-off restaurants, Baxter's and Spezia. Hope this helps! Enjoy your stay!
Hi Audrey,
As a longtime SF native, I would suggest staying at the Holiday Inn City Centre,(in the heart of downtown) or the new Sheraton (beautiful, but a little out of the way). If you stay in the downtown area, there are a number of great places to eat including Minerva's (four stars!), Kristina's is nice for breakfast or lunch, SF Brewing Company, Zandbroz for great coffee and ice cream (fun shopping too!) Hope this helps, enjoy your visit
