Silver shells or Sandestin/Luau for family.?

I think I have narrowed down our Spring Break hotel to Silver shells or Luau at Sandestin. Which location is better with more activities for teens to do? Is Sandestin that great that it's worth staying there? Do guests have access to other pools within Sandestin if we are staying there? We enjoy bike riding. Which area has more paths and is bike friendly? Thanks for your help.
