Silly Disney Florida questions

I am a UK visitor, coming to Orlando in December. I am lucky enough to have visited DisneyWorld many times but this time I am not purchasing the 14 day ticket, so questions are:

Can I purchase a single day park ticket in advance, so I can use the Fastpass, if so where?

I have tickets for Mickey's Merry Christmas Party, although it says it starts at 7pm, I seem to remember from about 5 years ago that we got in much earlier, what time might we be able to get in?

With thanks

Carol

To answer your second question-
You may enter the park at 4:00.
The actual party doesn't start until 7:00
Hope you have a great time.

Not sure the rationale for buying the single ticket in advance since the FastPass can't be used until you get inside or am I misunderstanding something here?

You can pre schedule your fast pass 60 days in advance now. I recommend going to www.disboards.com

You can only book FastPass+ reservations 30 days in advance if you are not a guest of a WDW hotel.

And how many of those reservations can you actually book?

You can make 3 per day, so if you buy a one-day ticket in advance, you can make 3 reservations. They all have to be at the same park. However, if you use up all your FastPass+ reservations for the day, you can get more and use them on the same day (though during really busy times the number of reservations slots is exceeded and you just can't reserve anything good). You can reserve spots for many parades and character meet and greets for the kids, too. (The latter are some of the longest lines in WDW.)
