Siesta key condos
Siesta Key does not seem to get much response from this travel site, so hopefully someone can respond. We are looking at condos bayside instead of the usual oceanfront since we will have the whole family and the guys want near the bay. Also no high-rises. Our House at the Beach and Midnight Cove seem to fit the bill. Can anyone share proximity of the 2 and if one would be better than the other?

Midnight Cove is close to the "south bridge" Stickney Point. That would give you easy access off the Island.
Our House at the Beach is across the street from the famous Siesta Key public beach.
Neither one are within walking distance of the village.
Both are about the same age.
I would really need to know what you plan to do while here and why you prefer the bay side. You will have to cross the street to get to the beach at either place, depending on what time of year you are visiting this could be difficult with small children.
Let me know more details and I will try to help you

Thank You! We are staying bayside simply for something different since we always have stayed oceanfront. Also, the guys want to fish, and my daughter who lives in Tampa will be bringing her fiance who has a boat. Son in Jacksonville and daughter in St. Louis will be joining us - no children. They will not stay with us since they are close, but travel back and forth. Guys will do fishing and charters and girls will do beach and shop, and we we will all be eating out every night. The end of the week will just be DH and I.
The bayside looked very nice for evening walks. Also, I didn't see anything but highrises on the beach side. If it's just across the street, we don't mind a walk. I do know that Midnight Cove has chairs on the beach so we don't have to tote them along, but don't know if the condos are as nice.
I have been to Siesta Key for a day at the beach only. Same with daughter - she goes for the beach, but never pays attention to anything else.

Well I would probably do Midnite cove--however each condo is individually owned so cannot tell you what it will look like.
I am not sure renters are allowed to use the docks but the advantage of Midnite Cove is that most condos have a boat dock on the canal.
But, if you do want to do a charter there are two rental boat places very close to Midnite Cove.
Also if you and your daughter want to shop like I said before Midnite Cove is very close to the south bridge, you can be on the mainland in no time and you will be within 10 min of 3 shopping centers and like 15 min of downtown. So shopping is no problem.
You have no problem with dinner out--tons of restaurants.
However time of year you are coming still can be a factor in the times I gave you for travelling and also reses at restaurants.
Let me know if you need anything further

It doesn't matter if we use the docks. Boyfriend grew up in area so he knows the ropes as to where to go with the boat. I really just wanted a comparison of the two places. Apparently, Our House at the Beach has a lake. I do realize it is not bayside. I was just wondering which would be the more favorable of the two. Thanks for the help! BTY, we are going in September, so it will be low season.
