Side Orchestra or Center Front Mezzanine for Brief Encounter?

I can get side seats in the Orchestra or Center Front Mezzanine at a discount. Which would give me a better view?

Honestly, it depends on how far to the side and how close to the front. Side orchestra on the aisle is actually my favorite place to sit because there isn't a head in your way.

Studio 54 is a pretty small theatre, though, so front mezz is good--the front mezzanine overhangs row g, so seats are pretty close.

I agree with bethke14 about the side orchestra, and, in any event, when attending a play (as opposed to a musical) I like to be as close to the action as possible. (In 1999 I had the good luck to be sitting in the first row to enjoy Edie Falco and Christian Slater in "Side Man". Unforgettable.)

Wow so did I!!! wasn't that amazing??

As to the OP, I saw Brief Encounter in SF and there are a lot of film and video chunks that I think would be best seen from the center area. We had center mezzanine tix and they really let us see all that was going on (albeit at a much larger theater than Studio 54)

Indeed. Acting of that calibre keeps me going back to the theater for more magic, and sometimes it happens, as in "Next to Normal."

I am booking tickets for Brief Encounter as well for opening night and have to take the orchestra aisle as my husband has a broken leg. I am hoping seats will be okay. Looking forward to it as it looks great.

I have seats on the far right side of Studio 54 (near the front). I'm not totally crazy about being on the side, but since I'm on the 5th row, it's generally ok. If you are in the middle of the theater, the sight lines are a little better from the side there, but I generally prefer front center mezzanine seats for most shows (especially for a musical). But since this theater is smaller, I don't think it matters that much.

I tried to book seats on line last night but it didnt work out for some reason. So glad it didnt, funny how things work out sometimes.

I was trying to book seats on the side as my husband is in a wheelchair (temporarily) and so today I called the theatre directly. The wonderful young man on the end of the phone told me that those seats are actually up against a wall. That would have been a disaster!

He booked us wheelchair seats in Row A, seats 5 and 7, for $37 each! I would have preferred to be a bit further back seeing as it is multi media, but wont complain. What a bargin.
We booked wheelchair seats for Promises Promises and they were $130 each so this is great.

I will post a report when we return to tell you how that worked out. We are going on opening night.
