Shuttle/Taxis from FLL to Miami Beach?
Hi,
I have found old threads on this subject, but nothing for 2007. Does anybody know if there is shuttle service from Ft. Lauderdale airport to Miami Beach and if so, how much? The supershuttle only does MIA. If I had to take a cab, how much would I have to expect to pay?
Thanks! By the way, I think I'll be staying at the Days Inn in the 4000 block of Collins Ave.

Are you sure Supershuttle doesn't go to Ft Lauderdale?
Google "Ft Lauderdale airport shuttle".
There are many.
A taxi from FLL to South beach will cost at least $50. and probably more.
Last year I took a taxi from MIA to my house directly southwest of Ft Lauderdale and it cost about $75.

If you are staying in Mid Beach you'll definitely need a car. Nothing is within walking distance and the public transportation system in Miami is a joke.
I'd go to hotwire and rent a car. You can probably get one for $20 per day which would be cheaper than a cab even if you are staying a week.

A cab from FLL to Miami Beach will cost you more than $50.00 if you don't want to rent a car you would probably be better shuttle from FLL to MIA and find out if your hotel has airport service. Renting a car to me is the only way to go but, if you are going to Miami Beach nightly parking will cost you around $20.00 per night.
p.s. have you tried calling your hotel and asking them how much it costs from FLL to the hotel?

Myer, I had called Supershuttle and it was they who said they don't service FLL. I did find by calling the airport there is a shared ride service for $18 per person.
Colombiana, I called my hotel, but they don't have the best customer service and were not helpful. I may end up bidding on priceline for a better hotel!
Gotravel, we actually will have a car, but I'm flying in earlier than my friends who will be picking up the car. Going back to FLL will be no problem.

Here's a link to a shuttle company which claims FLL to South Beach Hotels, departures every 30 minutes for $34 a person. Sounds perfect to me.

Hi aggie - we used this shared ride service 2 weekends ago from FLL to the Raleigh hotel.
http://www.floridalimo.com/
It worked out very well - I think it was $18 each. We shared a brand new town car with two other people who were going to the hotel next to us. It was just as fast as a cab, and we probably had a nicer vehicle. Once you leave the terminal, just follow signs for shared ride services.
Coming back to the airport wasn't as efficient, but still not terrible. They picked us up roughly 3 hours before our flight and stopped at several hotels.
