Shuttle or Taxi from O'Hare to downtown
I have found a rate of $62.00 for 2 people roundtrip from O'Hare to downtown. Is it going to be comparable roundtrip if we take a taxi or is the shuttle more economical? Time isn't an issue. We will be arriving on a Sunday around noon and departing on Thursday at around 5:00 p.m. Thanks in advance!!

I agree with the above post. The one-way fare for the Blue Line train is $2.25. The station is connected to the arrival level of all the domestic terminals. Many hotels are within a couple-blocks or you could exit at the Clark/Lake stop (it has elevators) and grab a cab for only a few dollars.
The caveat is that on some weekends, the CTA has been performing track maintenance and service is suspended in some areas of the Blue Line. It would mean taking the train to Western Avenue, then transferring to a shuttle bus the remainder of the way into the city. Weekend closures are usually announced on Wednesday or Thursday at www.transitchicago.com.
You can also purchase multi-day passes at the airport rail station that allow unlimited rides on all CTA trains and buses. A 3-day pass is $14.

Those rates are one way. Have you looked into a private sedan? The rates can be only a few dollars more than a taxi, but it would be a bit nicer and you wouldn't have to trail all over while others were being dropped off.
