Shows in Las Vegas

Can anyone recommend a good show. We like comedy, broadway type shows, and variety shows.

Thanks!

There's nothing like The Blue Man Group, if you're interested in something completely different. And if you haven't checked out a Cirque du Soleil show, it's definitely worth seeing, at least once. (That's the "Love" offering in an earlier post -- the Beatles show.)

Depends what you are looking for. I've seen Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia and 'O' by Cirque Du Soleil in Vegas and they were all enjoyable and memorable in different ways. 'O' definately has the wow factor, the acrobats are unbelievable, as is the water filled set. Phantom is a classic and Mamma Mia is very feel-good full of sing-a-long songs!

These are all comedy or magic or both. For straight magic - Lance Burton. For magic w/comedy - Penn & Teller. For comedy w/some magic - The Amazing Jonathan. For a true Vegas show - Folies Bergiere (sp?)

I love Danny Gans and have seen him a few times - love the Blueman group as well - no way to explain it - but it is awesome. Everyone I have taken to see it has loved it. We have seen Phantom a few times and then went to see it last December in Vegas and think it was the best to date. The set et is amazing. Highly recommend that one as well. We saw Love and it was good - but we were not "wowed" (but admit we were tired) Saw Ka and now call anything over priced and boring a "Ka" experience. LOL Pass. Dh loved "O" when he saw it... I would pass on Lance Burton -

Mamma Mia is a great show and is both a "broadway type show" and it has "comedy" in it. When we went my husband was not thrilled about going, but by the end he was up dancing, it really is a great show. It is also leaving Vegas soon, so maybe see it before it goes.

Spamalot (at the Wynn) would provide comedy, a Broadway-type and variety show all in one! Loved it when we saw it in March. Ate at the buffet there before the show and it was the best!

If you only see one show make it a Cirque du Soleil, either Ka or Mystere.

Stand up comedy - Rita Rudner
Broadway - Mama Mia
Other - Blue Man Group

checkout goldstarevents.com for discounts to Mama Mia.

See if there will be a headliner comedian in town during your visit. I've managed to catch Jay Leno this way, and he was excellent!

When I go to a Vegas show I check Broadwaybox.com/lasvegas for show coupons. Of the shows mentioned so far, there are currently coupons for Mamma Mia, Le Reve, Folies Bergiere, KA and Mystere. I recommend Carrot Top, though, that guy just cracks me up.

I agree with TekWriter and recommend Spamalot. Also, Le Reve at the Wynn was amazing (How'd they do that? ) and The Scintas Family gets great reviews as a variety show.

Loved, loved, loved 'O' and The Blueman Group (so much so that we went to see the Blueman Group for a second time when we visited Boston).
Also say Mystiere (another Cirque show) - very good and a fair bit of comedy too.
