Anyone have any suggestions for things to do on a short trip to Newport in mid June? We are a couple in our late 20s and are open to pretty much anything...

Well, I'll assume you are talking about Newport RI. Anyway, the mansions, the Cliffwalk, Ocean Drive/Brenton Point, Fort Adams, a Harbor tour on a sailing Schooner, just walking around the waterfront shopping, eating, and drinking. The water will be cold in June but laying out at the beach should be doable. There's plenty more to do in RI but for a short visit of a day or so that should be all you can handle.
just returned from Newport...it's a lovely part of the country. We are middle aged and mostly like moseying around and eating but here's what we did: toured 5 mansions, walked the cliff walk, took a day trip to Mystic Seaport, Conn. Toured Newport Winery at
Newport, a short drive. Lunch at the Glass Onion is good. Bought and drank a lot of wine. Dined in Newport at SAla's (very good), Christie's for lunch, Red Parrot, shopped and spent too much. Does the folk festival or jazz festival occur while you are there would have liked to attend at Fort Adams.
