Tuckerman Ravine holds the best spring skiing in the east. Any time between April and June you can find an average snow depth of around 70' of snow in the bowl. It is only about a 2 hr. hike in from the Pinkham Notch AMC headquarters on Route 16 across from Wildcat Ski Area, about a half hour drive from route 302 in North Conway. Avalanche dangers are posted daily at the trailhead. BE PREPARED! Mt Washington has the worst weather in the world. Bring plenty of water and warm clothing. You will end up strapping you skis to your pack and heading up the trail. Maybe not this year, but other years you can ski down to the parking lot. Call the Appalacian Mountian Club for trail and ski conditions. Overnight accomodations are easy to come by, either hotels in North Conway or at the AMC huts. If you pick a nice day for this little day trip, you will have a blast.

Strongly advise research and planning - knowing what you're doing. Many have never returned. Seriously.
