Planning to spend one night in the Albuquerque area on the way home from a big western road trip and would like to stay at a budget friendly (about $70-$80) hotel near a couple of fun casinos. The casino hotel rates are too high for us.
Any suggestions?

I don't know which freeway you'll use to get into town, but there are a bunch of chain motels along I-25 between Alameda and Paseo del Norte - Clarion, Hampton Inn, La Quinta, Motel 6, etc.
If you'll be in town during the Balloon Fiesta the first week of October, rooms will be hard to find and rates go way up. Book your room now if that's the case.

I should add the casinos are spread out, but that location would put you fairly close to Sandia Casino and the Santa Ana Casino in Bernalillo.

Thanks, Lee Ann. That helps. We will travel through on I-40 but could stay off 25. Is that where most of the casinos are?
Are there any besides Route 66 off I-40?
