Seeking Budget accomodations in Miami - south beach

Hi there,

I have found a hotel I'd like to book, but I'm not sure if it's a good location for a carless person who wants to spend only part of the time at the beach. The rest of my time would be spent walking, sightseeing, windowshopping, dining at inexpensive restaurants and taking in a few museums.

Is this a good choice for the carless? Your thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.

The Clay Hotel
1438 Washington Avenue
Miami Beach, FL 33139

More of a hostel check reviews on hostelbookers.com
Centrally located hostel/hotel sort of dodgy as long as
you are ok with backpacker type lodgings
odds are great you will be fine.

Otherwise betterbidding.com
for great hotel deals
for not much more
usually bidding priceline.com for me.

Good luck!

You might want to check on the Richman in South Beach Art Deco area. We stayed here for the good price and was very satisfied with the area. We walked everywhere and it is oceanfront with a nice pool. Don't eat there, cheaper places in the neighborhood.

Well I am on a student budget (under $100 per night for 2 people) so options are limited. I am fine with simple, but I don't want anything dirty or in a bad neighbourhood. I am not sure which is better: Clay Hotel or San Juan Hotel. According ot reviews, Clay is better and it's the best I can find for my budget thus far.

Cd - I could not find Richman Hotel on the internet. I only found Richmond. Is this the one you mean? If it is, it looks nice but sadly I cannot stay there. It is at least 50% over budget.

With that budget I wouold have a look at the Let's Go student guide and the Thorn Tree section of the Lonely Planet web site. It might provide more info on this place and other backpacker/super budget properties.

Jenste98, yes that's the one. How about trying Priceline as was recommended above?
Good luck!
