My husband and I are looking for a 5-6 days get-away in mid-to-late January. I've never been to the GC and am also interested in Sedonia. We're late 50's/early 60's, active, love hiking, history, wildlife, massages, art galleries, museums and nice places to eat. How much outside, walking/hiking can we do in winter? Suggestions for experiencing the GC? In Sedonia is there local theater events at that time? Great things to do? Offbeat or unique activities, placesto visit? Nice hotels with a local (as opposed to chain) feel?? Suggestions on planning our time? Should we skip the GC at this time of the year and come back when it's warmer? We'll be flying in from west coast & renting a car.
Thanks for any tips!

You'll definitely find it cold at the GC in January, Sedona less so. Personally I like to hike in winter but it's hard to say how someone else will experience weather. Southern AZ is nice at that time of year.
For art galleries Jerome is far better than Sedona. The Grand Hotel in Jerome has spectacular views overlooking the valley.
