Is it worth the extra money to stay at BWAR rather that Sky Ranch Lodge. How's the location of BWAR?
Travelling with husband and 3 kids (21, 18, 15). Will spend 2 days in GC then arrive in Sedona for about 3 days.
Hear that Sky Ranch Lodge is great location with amazing views. BW has more amenities...not sure if that is necessary in a place like Sedona. Thoughts? Experiences?
Sedona Sky Ranch Lodge or Best Western Arroyo?

I love Sky Ranch Lodge, up on Airport Mesa. The rooms are very basic, but clean and comfortable. But, since you will have your children, I would opt for BWAR. The location is right in the heart of uptown Sedona. So your children would have much more to do,being able to get out and browse around. Also, at SRL, you absolutely have to drive wherever you go. With BWAR, you can walk to a number of restaurants -- and the Jeep tour offices.
Thanks Mike...I'm leaning toward BWAR for that reason and also they have a full breakfast included. That's a big factor when feeding 5 adults!
MikeP, is the restaurant at the airport up on Airport Mesa still open? I agree with your advice regarding BWAR, but maybe Julie's kids would enjoy seeing the small planes coming and going while eating lunch, and the views from up there really are cool.
The old restaurant was torn down and a new one built.

Lunch or dinner there would be good for a family. If dinner, the family could go to the overlook right near Sky Ranch Lodge to watch sunset -- either before or after dinner.
