Sedona for a Month
I've been to Sedona several times, and when I became a widow, it made my list of possible places to live. So I'm renting a house for the month of April but now I'm wondering what will be the best way to get there and start meeting people my age (50's) who are very active as I hiked the GC last year and plan to do it again in April. I have checked meetup.com and sent out a few emails, but any other suggestions are very welcome!

Look for local hiking groups to find people to hike with.
Check out places to volunteer to find locals who are generally nice, giving people who will be willing to include you in their activities. Perhaps a soup kitchen, food bank, visitor's bureau, school, park service, etc.
If you like to read, go to the local library and serif they have a book club.
Go to places where you are doing things you like to do and you will find other people who like the same things you do.
