Seattle with kids??
I posted recently about our upcoming trip to Washington State, and got lots of great suggestions. Thanks so much!!
During our trip to WA, we are planning on doing a one-night stay over in Seattle (we will have most of 2 days plus one overnight). We're traveling with kids ages 5, 7 & 9. Any suggestions on good hotels to stay in, or even a suggestion of what part of town to stay in, and tips on what we should see in our limited time there are appreciated.
Thanks!

I would look at the Residence Inn or the Silver Cloud Inn, both on Fairview across the street from Lake Union.
Not downtown but conveniently located, both have 'suite' type accommodations (even separate bedrooms at the RI) and are quite kid-friendly. There are several restaurants in various price ranges on the lakefront across the street, and both hotels offer good views of the Space Needle, floatplanes taking off and landing, sailboats, etc.

The Alexis Hotel, which is a Kimpton property, would work. We stayed there last fall while visiting friends/family. The room we had was HUGE!!! We had 2 queen beds, but there was another separate "room" that was a dressing area, but was probably about 10x10. The hotel offered to bring us a rollaway so our kids did not have to share a bed. It worked out great, especially since one child ended up very sick, so he was isolated a bit. But that arrangement would work for you with 5 people. The room was enormous, and very nice. In the evenings, they have complimentary wine tasting as well as blank postcards and watercolors set out. Painting postcards was fun for all ages, and was a great way to unwind before heading out for dinner. The Alexis is a short walk to Pike Place Market.
