Seattle to Allyn, WA
We're going to Portland, OR in November and plan on taking Amtrak to Bellingham, WA to see friends. We would like to take Amtrak back down to Seattle and then somehow get over to Allyn, WA to visit relatives. Mapquest shows it's 70 miles and I really don't want them to have to drive it. Is there any public transportation that could get us close to Allyn (NOT Allen)?

We have relatives in Allyn, and drive there rather than take the ferry.
mms's suggestion that your relatives meet you at the Bremerton Ferry Terminal makes a lot of sense--assuming they can do that.
There is bus service between Allyn and Bremerton provided by Mason County (www.masontransit.org). The routing is Bremerton Dock-Bellfair-Allyn and vise versa. The phone is 800 374-3747 and 360 427-5033

Great ideas! Thanks for all the help. I searched Greyhound and couldn't find a match, but I did find that we could stay on Amtrak to Tacoma and they could pick us up there as it's only 35 miles. We've taken the Bremerton ferry before when we rented a car but I hadn't thought about taking it from Amtrak. I'll email the options to them and let them decide.
Happytrails, do you suppose we have the same relatives? Allyn is pretty small!
