Seattle hotel help needed

Planning a special surprise weekend away for my husband turning 50 (along with tickets to Sonics game). Need help finding a 'special' hotel that could accomodate 4 of us as we're bringing our 2 sons (18 and 22). Making this a family trip. Would like a suite preferably or 2 rooms at a different hotel - not your usual run of the mill chains. Thanks to all who respond.

We stayed at the University Inn, near the University of Washington, when we visited Seattle in 2004. Thought it was a neat place.

We stayed at the Best Western Pioneer square. Great hotel and you can walk to all the interesting places. For meals we loved the seafood at McCormic and Smiccls on first avenue.Paul

I agree with Suze on recommending the Alexis. We stayed there last month and it was a beautiful hotel. We had a very large room that even had a dressing room area (about 10x10). The staff brought an extra bed in there for our so our children could each have their own beds. It was a great setup and we will definitely return.

Investigate Homewood Suites (a Hilton property) on Western Avenue. The room layout is good, the breakfast is complete, and it is a short walk from Key Arena.

For a real treat, check out the Hotel Edgewater located right on the water. Beautiful panoramic views and an excellent hotel shuttle that will take you to the major tourist attractions.

Also an excellent restaurant, Six Seven which is very nicely decorated and very good food. Have a nice time in Seattle! If you decide to go to Salty's for dinner, ask the concierge to arrange a comp limo to take you over there. ***kim***
