I will be in SEA just a few days prior to, so will miss, the May 21 opening of the Seattle Center Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibit. From the web site, it looks like a very permanent structure, but hints that "dates are limited" in other places. Anyone know if this is a permanent part of Seattle Center now? If only temporary, what are the dates? I'm a big Chihuly fan and hate missing such a great retrospect of his work. Hopefully I will have a chance to return soon enough to see it.

Boston, my 2 hour food shopping spree to satiate my man's needs

TC, It looks like a great exhibition but I think it's temporary like his previous Garden exhibitions.
Tickets are only on sale through the end of June on the website.
I believe it's permanent. From what I've read, it's not a museum but a for-profit gallery space that will feature the works of different artists, with some of Chihuly's largest pieces being the anchor exhibit of the indoor & outdoor spaces.

Thanks, bluestar. Sounds permanent. I can't wait to get back to see it. the King5 article comments make it pretty clear that Dale isn't well liked by all. However, I still think he pushed the glass envelope in an amazing way. No...he didn't do it alone, but then neither did Michelangelo. They all have their "workers".
