Seattle - What the weather REALLY like?

in early October. The guidebooks all give monthly averages. Should I expect it to be 60ish cool? We'll be walking in the evenings to most places.

Thanks!

It's not like we're trying to keep it a secret

Seattle weather is *impossible* to predict. They can't even get it right two days ahead. It's a local joke.

A month from now, will likely have temps in the 50's to 60's, but could be warmer or cooler either one. May be sunny, clear, gray, drizzly, or rain... but most likely a little bit of each.

Looking out my window this minute it is a glorious fall-feeling day. Sunny and I'm guessing high 60 low 70's with a slight breeze in the air. Very fresh.

I was afraid you'd say that!! I was trying not to pack the kitchen sink but it sounds like I need to be prepared for anything.

Bring layers to be ready for whatever happens. My winter jacket is an unlined shell. Some times--in the deep of winter--I wear a sweater under it.

Layers are key! In early October, it could be nice and sunny in the 60s one day, and cool and drizzly the next (or both in one day).

Today was absolutely gorgious. Unfortunately, there have been few days like today this summer. The past week, it has finally gotten nice...so, October will be great! I predict mostly crystal clear and sunny, warm in the sun, cool in the shade during the day. Cool at night. Perhaps we will have occasional rain showers.

Yep. Layers.
