Scenic route from Charlotte to Columbia

A bit late I know but does anyone have a scenic route from Charlotte to Columbia, flying into Charlotte for a short trip. Traveling first to Columbia and then on to Charleston. Not having any trouble finding scenic for the second part of the trip. We are leaving early Thursday morning so if you have any suggestions would love to hear back from you.

There are a few routes you can take that run parallel with I77 (521, 21, 321) but I don't know how scenic you will find them?

Charlotte to Columbia is not all that far apart but here's just a few things that I think are some of the highlights along the way:

It is strawberry season:

Anne Springs Close Greenway (Fort Mill, SC)

Catawba Cultural Center (Rock Hill, SC)

Historic Brattonsville (Mc Connells, SC)

Kilburnie the Inn at Craig Farm - Lancaster, SC (amazing B&B and grounds - local artist Jim Shore helped restore the Inn and also painted several portraits)

521 BBQ

Congaree National Park

I might also add that as you leave North Carolina on the I77 and enter South Carolina there will be a visitors center (between exit 90 and 88) which is a great place to stop for information.

Enjoy your trip!

If you end up taking 77S and love a good milkshake stop at the New Peach Stand. Great fresh strawberry milkshakes at this time of year.

This would take you out of your way, but my favorite scenic/wandering in NC is visiting the potteries around Seagrove, NC. Again, this would mean a detour with added time, but if you like pottery it's a great way to spend the day -
Pottery map -

History of Seagrove area -

One of the famous potteries -

I've detoured out of my way to spend the afternoon hitting some potteries I've not yet seen.
Perhaps the equivalent of visiting wineries in Napa/Sonama

Good recs. I'd also recommend side tracking to Bishopville to see Pearl Fryer:

and another side trip in the other direction to see DOri Sanders:

Miss Dori (Dori Sanders) was an excellent suggestion only problem is; she's not there yet (you'll only find her there during peach season).

There is no doubt that Seagrove is a wonderful trip, but it is an hour and a half from Charlotte due east, and worth a whole day to do the potteries.

I understand that. I hope my post indicated that.
I'm not sure what is most important to the OP - getting to Charleston or finding interesting things in NC/SC.
The Seagrove area is my favorite "wandering" in the two states. Just an idea for the OP to consider.
