Scenic drive from Charleston SC to Charlotte NC

Are their any scenic drives between these 2 cities? Or are there any interesting towns along the way? We are driving this route and don't really want to be on the interstate the whole time.

It is only a 3.5 hour drive. Camden and Aiken are interesting. There are roads that parallel the interstate, or you could cut up I95 to 521. We used to drive this fairly often to the beach.

My family is from Upper South Carolina.

They all whined when they had to go to Charleston because the trip is so boring.

At least it is fast now.

Aiken is nice but not on the way.

The I26 is great for an Arborist, other than than press cruise control and take a good book.

All the interest is when you get to Charleston.

Well, it's not quite on the route, but I saw a program about him on PBS, and it would make an awesome detour!

No, you're right. It's not on the route, but there's not much that is unless one leaves the interstate. And Pearl is worth it.
